Nancy Heap is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an EMDR Certified Therapist. She is the founder of Ikigai, LLC and received her Master of Social Work degree from the Loyola School of Social Work. She has more than two decades of experience working with individuals, couples and families.

Her integrative approach embraces trauma-informed and evidence-informed modalities. She incorporates EMDR, mindfulness, guided imagery and a systems approach to personalize the therapeutic encounter and achieve optimal healing. As well, she has advanced training in energetic and shamanic techniques (Q’ero tradition). Nancy believes that each of her clients possesses the potential and capacity to live their ideal, fulfilled life.  She is a skilled clinician who creates healing environments in which clients access their strengths, and develop lifelong tools for better living.

Nancy’s clinical interest and experience includes the treatment of depression, anxiety, life transitions and stress management. She has worked extensively with health care professionals in the areas of burnout, compassion fatigue and the inherent stress of a healing role. In addition, Nancy has created and teaches several modules on energy concepts and healing to medical students and fellows at the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Northwestern University.
